PTC PCC #2743

High jacked PCC!

Relax, it's not trolley terrorism. It's just that the rear end of our Philly PCC #2743 has been raised high in the air so its truck can be removed. The car suffered a grounded motor last year and has been out of service since. The rear truck was removed, the motors pulled, and the truck replaced under the car. The motors have gone to an electrical shop for rebuilding. Hopefully the car will be back in service for Fall Spectacular this year. (J Salomon pics)

Who put this PCC in the way?

Our Philly PCC has been experiencing electrical difficulties recently. A number of volunteers have been involved with inspection and troubleshooting. It's times like this we are glad we have two maintenance pits, as Johnstown 311 covers the other one.
